We eat a lot of chicken, for a few good reasons:

  • Especially when we’re trying to eat healthier or lose a few pounds, chicken is lower in calories, saturated (“bad”) fat, and cholesterol than red meat. For us, ground chicken is the healthier choice.
  • Chicken is infinitely versatile. It can be used to make dishes from almost every culture you can think of. Italian, Greek, Mexican, Indian, Asian – the list is endless! And there are ways to use chicken in every meal (think chicken sausage omelettes for breakfast, or chicken sandwiches and salads for lunch).
  • It can also be quite a bit less expensive – which is more of a factor to us than ever in these days of high food prices. On a recent trip to the grocery store, ground chicken was about half the cost of ground beef.
